LANDHAUS PAUL

The LANDHAUS PAUL has completed a cooperation with wine growers from Burgenland, who have been cultivating top locations with passion for generations.

Together with the winemakers, the production manager from Landhaus Paul Andreas Nittnaus decides which steps in the vineyards have to be set.

"It's just awesome what great potential we have in our region" - Andreas Nittnaus shows enthusiastically.

Many of these prime locations are extreme due to structural change

endangered to be abandoned.  Because of this reason the Landhaus Paul want to counter steer and work out promising perspectives with the local winemakers.

About our region

Lake Neusiedl

The vineyards are situated along the eastern shore of the Neusiedl lake, ranging from the hills of the county capital, across the large wine growing community of Gols, over the flats of the Heideboden, down in to the melancholical Seewinkel.

The area is located in the Pannonian climate zone. Typical for this climate are hot, dry summers and cold snowless winters, as well as moderate precipitation. An important factor for the microclimate is the Neusiedler See, the largest steppe lake of Central Europe.

In summer the big water surface heats up and delivers the stored warmth slowly to its surroundings. The slight cooling at night, supports the formation of the fruit and the production of the necessary acid which distinguishes the wines.

NATURE & SUSTAINABILITY

Only those who understand the nature can create great wines.

We know that sustainable wine management is essential for high wine quality. Without a functioning ecosystem, viticulture is an ongoing struggle against nature - strenuous for the winemaker as well as for the vines. Furthermore the vineyards for our wines are located in bird sanctuaries and the immediate area of influence of the National Park Neusiedlersee-Seewinkel.

One of the most important measures of sustainable production is the greening of the vine rows. Here, flowering plants are sown together with soil-improving plants. The strict renunciation of insecticides promotes biodiversity. Even with little yield the soil is healthy, easy and efficient in the long run. Prozess.

Viticulture is a long-term and intergenerational process. That is why the Landhaus Paul works exactly this way. Due to the long-term focus on sustainable work, it was easy to obtain the newly created "Sustainable Austria" certification for sustainable work in viniculture.
